Since opening in 1983, more than nine million people have visited Center in the Square. Multiple generations have been touched by its programs, performances, and presentations. The renovation will enhance all 174,000 square feet of Center in the Square and include a spectacular rooftop addition.

The creation of Center in the Square in 1982 was a catalyst for the rebirth of downtown Roanoke. However, more than a quarter of a century and millions of visitors had taken their toll on the icon. Environmentally friendly and efficient HVAC, new public spaces, updated exhibit spaces and dramatic plans for expansion to the roof were all envisioned for the next 25 years of Center in the Square. Access was asked to assist campaign consultant John Harlow in the development of the campaign brand, promotional DVD and case statement.
