Kris Bailey
Creative Director / Associate

After graduating from Virginia Tech, Kris Bailey worked as an intern in the university’s design office. She moved to Charlottesville and started out in the advertising department of the The Daily Progress. After two years, she moved to Roanoke and transitioned to the marketing department of The Roanoke Times where she worked with Access founder Todd Marcum. After four years, she became the Art Director at a small local agency and later worked in the marketing department of a medical center.

She began freelancing at Access shortly after the firm was founded and became the firm’s first employee. Her design and type sensibilities have translated into many awards for the agency, including a national ADDY.

Kris has traveled extensively and her ports of call have included China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. After getting certified to scuba dive, she traveled through the Mariana Islands visiting Saipan, Yap and Palau. Diving has remained a focal point of our travel destinations. After her stepfather finished his Fulbright scholarship on Mauritius she traveled through the game parks of Southern Africa including Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia. More recently she has visited Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands, sailed to St. Lucia and Martinique, and stayed on Vieques off the coast of Puerto Rico.
