A Week in China – Entry 1
November 12th, 2007Safely checked into the Roanoke Airport with no problems. Packing for China was a challenge. What to bring, what to leave out?
But with Amy’s help I feel pretty confident I will not be a stereotype of a bad American Tourist.
My carry-on bags are weighed down with more magazines, videos, language tapes and audio books than I can even list. Lots of time to kill and anyone that knows me is well aware of how I require constant stimulation and diversions. So between a 5 hour layover at Dulles, then a 14 hour flight to Beijing, then a two hour layover until we arrive at Chongqing.
A little background about what I am doing. Access, along with other area businesses (a representative from Carilion Biomedical Center and a Roanoke Aeronautics company) were invited to accompany the Vice Mayor and Roanoke City Economic Development on a business exchange trip by the Chongqing Businessmen’s Association.
